ok, so work continues to stress the hell out of me, and pensiveness persists on a personal level.

but i have nothing new to say about those topics at the moment.

so allow me to hit on something a bit lighter.

the office.

i just finished watching a tape of the 3 hour christmas special that marked the end of the bbc comedy series "the office." and it was fucking brilliant.

in fact, i want to rewind it and watch it straight through again right now. the details about "the office" are i can't remember the last time i was this dazzled with a television series. it was funny, it was painful, it was touching, and it was beautiful. in short, it was perfect.

i must own it on dvd as soon as possible. the whole thing. thanks to the wonders of netflix, i watched both seasons recently. then i had a friend who is lucky enough to have a cable package that includes bbc america tape the christmas special.

and wow. pure genius.

if you haven't watched it yet, you must do so immediately. mind you, it's not for everyone. many people will likely find that they are too stupid to fully appreciate the brilliance of this particular form of comedy and realism. and to those people i say, i feel sorry for you -- your lives must be empty and tedious. but to the select few that are capable of grasping such things, i say obtain a copy of the full series as soon as possible and spend 9 hours basking in its greatness.
